(2008-02-04) Windows Vista SP1 And Windows Server 2008 Have RTMed!

Posted by Jorge on 2008-02-04

The beta periods for both Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 have closed. Both products are final and have actually RTMed as of today!

More information about the RTM can be read here:

My favorite features in these products (in any order):

  • Read Only Domain Controllers
  • Restoring objects through reanimation and snapshot backups
  • Server Core
  • Fine Grained Password Policies (FGPP)
  • Hyper-V
  • Bitlocker Drive Encryption on ALL volumes

All the technical stuff about Windows Server 2008 can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/2008/default.aspx

I can finally build my test environment based on the final builds!😉

Cheers,
Jorge
